Public relations of IMIDRO reports that during the last 2 years exploration projects were started in 200 thousand square kilometers in various provinces. At the present time initial identification of few zones are finished and required information has been obtained ,zones such as parts of Sangan area about 400 square kilometers and 50 other zones will be ready for investment in the next month. In border line of Southern Khorasan province 10 zones in 300 square kilometers were explored, yesterday in the 4th annual Mines and Mining Industries Exhibition and Conference on investment opportunities in Tehran, Mehdi Karbasian explained.
Karbasian noted that the Supreme Leader, government and Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade support mines and mining industries sector and in the Sixth Development Plan, mine and mining industries will be the most important factor of development, so in order to have successful development, private sector should announced their suggestions.
IMIDRO supports private sector and try to promote mine and mining industries sector in compliance with Article 44 of Constitution. The share of mining industry in GDP is 5 percent now but it should be increased to 16_17 percent and in this way cooperation of private sector and attraction of foreign investment will accelerate achievement of this aim, he added.
Karbasian said foreign investors can establish a firm or with cooperation of Iranian investors establish firm and get mining license. This opportunity shows advanced law in mine sector and foreign investors will have a win-win investment in this sector.
Considering risk taking of exploration sector, IMIDRO and government will undertake primary exploration and therefore mineral reservoirs will reach 50 percent then domestic and foreign private sector can act,Chairman of the executive board of IMIDRO added.
