According to the press release of public relations of IMIDRO, production statistics in mine and mining industries sector in the last Iranian year (from19 March2014 to 20 March 2015) showed that Iran’s Annual production in steel, copper and aluminum sectors were 16,331,000 tons, 190,000 tons and 350,000 tons and Production capacity of these products are 24 million tons, 250,000 tons and 457,000 tons respectively.
Assessment of regional situation of mining industries production shows that at the present time in crude steel sector India(87,291,000 tons),Russia(71,461,000 tons) and Turkey(34,035,000 tons) ranked in first, second and third place respectively.
In copper sector Russia (850,000 tons) and Kazakhstan (430,000 tons) ranked in first and second place respectively.
In aluminum sector first to seventh ranks (before Iran) belongs to Russia (3,601,000 tons), Emirates (2,341,000 tons), India (2,100,000 tons), Bahrain (930,000 tons), Saudi Arabia (740,000 tons),Qatar(610,000 tons) and Oman (375,000 tons) respectively.
Now, Iran produces one percent of global crude steel production, one percent of global copper production and 0.7 percent of global aluminum production.
