Crude steel production reached 6,918,530 tonnes that was up compared with 6,430,153 tonnes in the same period last year.
Three top crude steel producers in the five months were Mobarakeh Steel, Khouzestan Steel and Isfahan Steel with production of 2,248,218 tonnes, 1,390,591 tonnes and 1.160,044 tonnes respectively. Hormozgan Steel with 485,511 tonnes of production, Saba with 330,348 tonnes, Khorasan Steel with 297,592 tonnes, Iran Alloy Steel with 171,276 tonnes and National Steel Industries Group of Iran with 60,600 tonnes, were other large producers.
State-owned and private companies produced 7,160,157 tonnes of steel products (pipe, beam, rebar, coil, wide sheet, hot sheet, galvanized sheet) in the first five months of this Iranian year that showed over 40,000 tonnes increase compared with 7,119,254 in the same period last year.
In the Iranian month of Mordad (July 23-August 22), 1,335,568 tonnes of steel ingot and 1,380,331 tonnes of steel products manufactured in the country.
