    • IMIDRO: Over $179m of mineral exports from Persian Gulf Special Zone

      Tehran, Oct 11, IRNA – Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) has announced that export of mineral and metal materials from the Persian Gulf Special Economic Zone in the first half of the current year (started March 21) amounted to over $179.9 million.

       The total products of the companies stationed in the mentioned zone during the said period was 2,035.092 tons including sponge iron, aluminum, zinc and steel bullions which showed an increase of 8.5% as compared to the same period last year.

      Mineral and metal companies stationed in the Persian Gulf Special Economic Zone produced 1,876,476 tons of products including 575,887 tons of slab and 732,179 tons of sponge iron by Hormuzgan Steel, 35,313 tons of aluminum bullion by Hormuzal, and 50,562 tons of aluminum bullion by Aluminum Mahdi.

      Meanwhile, 3,734 tons of zinc bullion was produced by Zinc Company and 637,417 tons of sponge iron by Kaveh South Steel Company.

      During the same period reloading and loading of bulk mining materials through the mechanized jetty in the region amounted to a total of 3,214,629 tons which showed an increase of 18.5% in terms of weight as compared to the same period last year.

      Some 2,710,312 tons of bulk mineral materials were reloaded and loaded at the jetty during the same period last year.
