    • IMIDRO: Alloy steel production up by 17% in first half of current year

      Tehran, Oct 17, IRNA – Alloy steel production reached 225,000 tons during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21), up by 17 percent compared to the same period last year, a mining industries organization has announced.

       Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) further reported the produced alloy steel was in the form of heat resistant steel, case hardening steel, micro alloy steel, spring steel, cold work tool steel, hot work tool steel, ball bearing, and flat and industrial alloy steels.

      According to IMIDRO, alloy steel production amounted to 193,000 tons during the same period last year.

      During the period, 192,000 tons of alloy steel worth 4,110 billion rails were supplied to various domestic markets registering a growth of over 32 percent in terms of weight and 34 percent in terms of value compared to the same period in its preceding year.

      The raw steel produced last year showed an increase of 8.8 percent compared to its preceding year. However, steel production dropped by five percent at the end of last year compared to its preceding year.
