Iran's crude steel production reached 12,066 million tonnes in the first 9 months of 2014, up by 6.6 percent from 11,318 million tonnes in the same period last year.
The country produced 1,429 million tonnes of crude steel in September 2014 that showed 4.8 percent increase compared with 1,364 million tonnes in September 2013.
According to World Steel Association, Iran ranked 14th among steel producing countries in the world in September 2014.
World crude steel production (for 65 countries reporting to World Steel Association) reached over 1,230 billion tonnes in the first 9 months of 2014 that increased by 2.1 percent from over 1,204 billion tonnes in the same period of last year.
Also World crude steel production was 134,421 million tonnes in September 2014, a slight decrease of 0.1 percent compared with September 2013.
