According to the website of the Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), the Italian ambassador made the remarks in a meeting with vice chairman of Sushi insurance company and representatives of Italian banks in Tehran on Sunday.
Nuclear talks between Iran and G5+1 has created a suitable opportunity for expansion of mutual economic cooperation mainly in mining and mineral industries, said the Italian envoy.
Iran and Italy should continue their exemplary economic cooperation in various fields, he said.
Establishment of companies for joint investments as well as activities of contractors could help broaden economic cooperation between the two countries, he said.
Italian companies have good record of activities in Iran and grounds for expansion of such cooperation are well prepared, said the ambassador.
Representative of Sushi, Raoul Ascari, for his part, highlighted the background of cooperation between the two countries and said they have signed Euro 3.5 billion worth of insurance contracts with Iran.
Clinching a deal between Iran and G5+1 will lead to further promotion of ties and cooperation with Tehran, Raoul Ascari said.
IMIDRO Managing Director Mehdi Karbasian said unilateral economic sanctions imposed against Iran have left no impacts on Italy's economic relations with Iran and called for further broadening of cooperation.
