karbasian added that Zarshouran Gold Complex is one of Iran's significant mineral plans with a production capacity of three tons per annum.
“At present, Iran’s public and private sectors produce 2.5 tons of gold and the complex will help increase gold production to 5.5 tons,” he said.
"It is predicted that when the factory becomes operational, it will produce 10 kg of pure gold per day and 1,250 kg and 500 kg of silver and mercury per annum."
The official noted that the complex has finished trial production and is ready to go on stream after completing the filtration sections.
Karbasian said the complex is the biggest gold factory of Iran, adding that it uses a chemical method devised and registered by an Iranian firm to process gold.
"The complex includes mines, production lines for processing gold, silver and mercury, the required fuel, machineries, skilled workforce and the like,” he said.
“The launch of the complex will create jobs for over 1,000 people.”
Karbasian announced that the gold mines will produce six tons of gold till the next 19 years.
