Hiroo Tanaka, Manager of the Energy and Mining Group of JICA in a session with the Chairman of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) Mehdi Karbasian said the agency had started the plan for the development of human resources in the mining sector in 15 countries as of last year.
He further remarked that the idea was to expand the plan in 30 countries and Iran is the first country in the Middle East where the agency is intended to implement the project.
Tanaka said that the agency pays the costs of the field research studies of the trainees, supervisors and advisers in their countries and after graduation they can continue their research works in Japan for a period of six months to one year.
Appreciating presence of the Japanese government officials in Iran after the international sanctions, Karbasian said there are different grounds available in mining sector in Iran for scientific-research cooperation with Japan.
He said that IMIDRO and its affiliated companies can conduct research activities in mining sector with the cooperation of Japanese scientific centers.
JICA is an official company that implements its development activities in different mining, agricultural, energy and transportation field.
