According to the IMIDRO's public relation that Iran and Kazakhstan agreed to cooperate on mining such as Zinc, Iron Ore, Bauxite and Gold.
"We signed an agreement in early 2014 with Kazakhstan to extend and strengthen our mining cooperation between two countries" Said Karbasian IMIDRO's CEO and deputy minister. "And we will establish a joint venture mining company to work initially on zinc and Iron Ore mines" he said. As Kazakhstan has rich resource of Iron Ore and appropriate infrastructure including railway, it is planned to produce Iron Ore, pellets and concentrate there and to carry material into Iran for producing steel, he added.
