Hird Gold Unit Officially Inaugurated by the Order of The President

According to IMIDRO's public relations, this project was constructed with the participation of Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO), a subsidiary of IMIDRO, and private sector investment.

The inauguration ceremony was attended via video conference by Masoud Pezeshkian, the President, Mohammad-Masoud Samiei-Nejad, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade and IMIDRO’s Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors, Touraj Zare, Head of IMPASCO, along with a group of directors from South Khorasan province

This unit was operated with a joint investment of the private and public sectors (IMIDRO’s leadership) worth 30 trillion Rials.

The production capacity of this unit is 400 kg of gold ingot yearly, and the operation of this industrial complex has created a complete production chain from mine to final product in the region.

In all stages of the plant’s design, construction, and launching, the expertise of local specialists and domestic manufacturing capabilities were used. The establishment of this industrial unit has created sustainable employment for 370 people in one of the country’s underprivileged regions and, in addition to training local skilled and technical personnel, strengthens sustainable development in the area. South Khorasan Province, as one of Iran’s largest provinces, is located in the east of the country and borders Razavi Khorasan, Yazd, Isfahan, and Kerman provinces, and to the east it shares a border with Afghanistan. This strategic geographic position has made South Khorasan one of the key hubs for commercial exchanges with Afghanistan, giving the province special economic and transit importance.
