Iran’s First National Competition of Gem Cutting Skills Will Be Held on November 2023

According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, this event will be held by Iran’s Gemstone Industry Development Plan (as one of the IMIDRO’s plans) in order to identify and encourage artisans, students and skilled learners of different gem cutting courses in the country to motivate and support them.

These competitions will be held by cooperation of National and International Skill Competition Department of Iran Technical and Vocational Training Organization and General Directorate of South Khorasan Technical and Vocational Training at the Shahid Radmard Technical and Vocational Training Center in Ferdous City in a completely specialized manner in the fields of Damale, Faset and Carving gem cutting in Two preliminary and final stages (face-to-face) from October 31 to November 2,2023.

Abou Mohammad Hashemi, administer of country’s gemstone development Plan announced that one of the aims of these competitions is to discover the professional talents of skilled people and to create a suitable opportunity for flourishing skills and to identify the skills of elites and workers and guide them towards the master and the production market.

He added: Holding these competitions can be a big step to introduce the potential of the country, prevent the sale of raw gems, and also create a stable structure for the country's activists in this sector.
