At the Second International Conference on Steel Industries and Structures:

Aghajanlou:‎the universities effective role in the growth of Chain Complexity coefficient and the Production of Various Products‎/ Innovation and productivity growth are essential requirements for mine and mineral industries.

The Chairman of the executive board of directors of IMIDRO stated:
In sustainable development, the perspective of the Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade and IMIDRO is intergenerational, and qualitatively, by increasing the complexity coefficient of the chain and producing a variety of products with high added value, we can enhance employment and foreign exchange earnings. In this regard, universities, with their research capabilities and creative human resources, can be the motive force behind this change.

Aghajanlou:‎the universities effective role in the growth of Chain Complexity coefficient and the Production of Various Products‎/ Innovation and productivity growth are essential requirements for mine and mineral industries.

According to IMIDRO's public relations, Mohammad Aghajanlou, speaking at the Second International Conference on Steel Industries and Structures held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tehran, added:

"When we talk about steel, we are essentially talking about the development of urban infrastructure, transportation, and various industries. Steel not only forms an important part of the industrial economy of countries, but is also considered a key element in many development projects."

Deputy minister declared:

one of IMIDRO's policies, in which universities can play a significant role is Changing the attitude towards the economic governance system in the mine sector and mining industries sector, this means shifting the focus from resource-based production to knowledge-based production, effectively increasing the economic complexity coefficient.

Global Steel Industry Statistics

Aghajanlou continued: global steel production has reached over 1.9 billion tons per year. China, with a share of about 50%, is the largest steel producer in the world. India, Japan, the United States, and the European Union are other key players. Turkey, with an annual production of more than 36 million tons, is considered an important regional exporter, and Iran follows next in ranking.

Iran and the Realization of the Goal to Increase Steel Production Capacity to 55 Million Tons by 2025 (1404 in the Iranian calendar)

Aghajanlou regarding the Iran's steel industry added:

we are among the top 10 countries in the world "With a capacity of 50 million tons and the production of more than 30 million tons of crude steel per year. steel is one of the pillars of non-oil exports, foreign exchange earnings, and employment in the country."

The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade added: "Currently, Iran has suitable capacities in the steel sector, and the goal of creating a production capacity of 55 million tons of steel in the outlook for 2025 (1404) will be realized."

The Prominent Role of Innovation and Productivity

Aghajanloo stated:

Now we are standing at a point where the challenges surrounding steel production are no longer merely technical or economic. Issues such as the energy crisis, water scarcity, climate change, carbon pollutants, and environmental requirements have become fundamental concerns.

He added: In such circumstances, innovation and productivity growth are not an option, but a necessity.‎He said: "We must accept that innovation and productivity are not formed in a vacuum. What forms the basis of this path are formed through cooperation between the government, university, industry, and domestic and international institutions‎.

The Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors of IMIDRO stated: "Environmental developments and global pressures to move towards a green economy will soon or late lead to strict policies, from carbon taxes to export restrictions. we should be prepared for this change today, the cost will be much heavier tomorrow."

‎At the end of his speech, while appreciating the organizers of the Second International Conference on Steel Industries and Structures, added: "We ) Imidro (have come to the conclusion that it is time for change. If we don't redesign the path of development, sooner or later others will do it. inside Changes can be managed and coordinated with national interests. But the change that is imposed will be sudden, costly, and often imperative.‎
