Iran has launched and inaugurated its first titanium concentrate production plant after decades of anticipation. The commencement of this project was accompanied by ups and downs since the 1990s, but after overcoming technological challenges, as well as those related to its governmental and private nature, our country now possesses the only processing plant for this magical metal.

According to IMIDRO's public relations, this gray-silver metal, simultaneously possesses both the strength of steel and the lightness of aluminum, was named "Titan" after the Titans of Greek mythology, signifying immortality and magic, and known as Titanium. In the 1990s, the Ministry of Mines and Metals, utilizing the God-given wealth of a valuable and mineable reserve in the south of Kerman province and in the city of Kahnuj, planned to utilize its properties in various industries, including the production of pigments.
