Water transfer projects from the southern coasts, specifically from the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, are underway.

The Persian Gulf transfer line to the Darreh-alu copper mine (in Kerman province) is 54% complete, and the line from the Sea of Oman to Zahedan reached 32% progress.

In line with Article 39 of the Seventh Progress Plan, based on the use of unconventional water resources, the mining industries, under the leadership & guidance of IMIDRO, have prioritized and advanced the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea water transfer projects, which have been advanced by mining units.

Providing a sustainable water supply for these industries is the base goal. These projects will enable the industries to become independent from domestic water resources.

According to the public relations of IMIDRO, based on field reports, the first section of the branch from the first line of the Persian Gulf water transfer, aimed at supplying water to the Darreh Alu copper mining complex, reached 54.48% progress.

Meanwhile, the Oman Sea to Mashhad water transfer projects have made 18.34% progress, and the Oman Sea to Zahedan project achieved 32.67% physical progress.

Currently, the water transfer project to Isfahan province (Sirjan to Isfahan) has now 93.5% progress and will be inaugurated this year.

The urban wastewater recycling project in Bandar Abbas, to supply water for industry, is 74% complete. This program, implemented under the leadership& guidance of IMIDRO, simultaneously achieves environmental goals for the city of Bandar Abbas and water transfer for industries in the western region of Bandar Abbas.
