75% percent progress in the production of paper from stone;Aligudarz
The project manager of paper production from stone (limestone) in Aligudarz reported a 75 percent progress on this project.
According to the IMIDRO’s public relations of, Hossein Dashbolaghi noted:
Due to the abundant deposits mines of calcium carbonate with 99% purity in the Aligudarz region of Lorestan and the capacity of these reserves to produce a value-added product, the plan for the production of paper from stone was implemented in Iran Minerals Production and Supply Co. (IMPASCO) (a subsidiary of IMIDRO)
He added: "This project, with an annual nominal capacity of 12,000 tons, made acceptable progress, and 65% of the equipment and machinery required by the factory entered the site up to now." Within the next 3 months, it is expected that their installation will start and enter the launching phase by the end of this year.
The project manager of paper production from stone (limestone) in Aligudarz clarified:
The unlimited reserves of limestone (calcium carbonate) in the Aligudarz region justify the construction of subsequent paper production factories in this area.
Advantages and Uses of Paper Produced from Stone
Referring to the advantages of producing this product ,Hossein Dashbolaghi continued: "This product is Compatible with environment therfore its waste is recyclable to nature." Also, it does not have problems related to paper industries, including industrial wastewater, toxic gases, and wood waste. Meanwhile the amount of water consumption in production process is low
He added: In comparison with cellulose paper, this production (from stone) is much safer “and is resistant to tearing. “The uses of this product include the production of various types of paper, including ordinary paper, writing, cardboard,… and use in the label and packaging industries.
