National project’s groundbreaking for the construction of a semi-industrial SMR unit for the first time in the country / IMIDRO's step to convert hematite iron ore to magnetite
The groundbreaking ceremony for the national project to construct the SMR mini-plant was held for the first time in the country.
According to IMIDRO's public relations, the groundbreaking ceremony for the national SMR mini-plant construction project was held at the Mineral Processing Research Center of Iran (Karaj), attended by Mohammad Aghajanlou, IMIDRO’s Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors; Vajihollah Jafari, Deputy Minister of Mines and Mineral Processing of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade; Reza Bastami, Head of the Iranian Mining Engineering Organization; and Mohammadreza Bahraman, Head of the Mining House.
This semi-industrial unit is being implemented by a domestic knowledge-based company, designed to convert hematite iron ore into magnetite, making it suitable for use in smelting furnaces.
The construction cost of this unit is approximately 600 billion Rials. According to IMIDRO’s Public Relations, the groundbreaking ceremony for the national project to construct the SMR mini-plant was held at the Iran Mineral Processing Research Center (Karaj) with the presence of Mohammad Aghajanlou, Chairman of IMIDRO’s Board; Vajihollah Jafari, Deputy of Mines and Mineral Processing at the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade; Reza Bastami, Head of the Mining Engineering Organization; and Mohammadreza Bahraman, Head of the Mine House.
SMR is the construction of a mini-plant for magnetic separation in a fluidized bed. This semi-industrial unit is being implemented by a domestic knowledge-based company and is intended to convert hematite iron ore into magnetite suitable for use in smelting furnaces. The construction cost of this unit is about 600 billion rials, which will be provided with IMIDRO’s support.
