‎ Samiei Nejad's emphasis on activating the potentials of gold and copper in the northwest of the country ‎

‎‎According to the IMIDRO’s Public Relations, the Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade,
who left for Tabriz on his first visit, in a meeting with the governor of East Azerbaijan, expressed
his pleasure& satisfaction with his presence in this province, and noted: "These potentials will
be activated through the participation and investment of the private sector and the support of
the province."‎
Regarding the plans made by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and
Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), he added: “A strategic project in the field of gold and
copper has been put on the agenda in the northwestern provinces of the country, which will
have the highest amount of investment in this field.”
Dr. Samiei Nejad pointed out that most of the country's major contractors expressed their
readiness to participate in this project, hoping that the implementation phases will begin
quickly.
Bahram Sarmast, the governor of East Azerbaijan, welcomed IMIDRO's new programs,
considering them as a significant transformation in economic development, job creation, and
the utilization of the regions mineral capacities.
Sarmast, after welcoming IMIDRO’s Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors, emphasized
the importance of the presence of senior managers in the mine and mining industries sector in
the province and regarded this trip as a strategic opportunity for the development of mining
capacities in the northwest of the country.
‎The East Azerbaijan governor, referring to the provinces potential capacities in the field of
mining, especially gold, called for the activation of large projects in this region.‎
‎Noting that East Azerbaijan can become the countrys golden hub, added: "Due to the industrial
infrastructure, expert manpower, and outstanding geographical location, activating these
potentials can be a turning point in the regions economic development."‎

Dr. Samiei Nejad, while expressing appreciation for the warm reception and welcome from the
provincial authorities, also emphasized IMIDRO's readiness to review proposals and strengthen
regional cooperation.
