According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, Iranian steelmakers produced 14 million and 149 thousand tonnes crude steel during first eight month of the current Iranian year (21March-21 November) indicating a 15 percent growth compared with the corresponding period of last year, Iran Steel association announced.
On the other hand, Iran steel products (coil, rebar, width sheet, hot sheet etc,) output grew 9% to12 million and 993 thousand tonnes in this year from 11 million and 915 thousand tonnes in the same period of last year.
Exports Up 84%
During this period, Iran exported 4 million and 225 thousand tonnes crude steel and 940thousand tonnes steel products indicating 84 percent growth and 35 percent decrease compared with same period of a year ago.
However, Iran imported 33 thousand tonnes crude steel and one million and 491 thousand tonnes steel products which compared to the corresponding period of last year (165 thousand tonnes crude steel and 2 million and 19 thousand tonnes steel products) fell 80 percent and 26 percent respectively.
