According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, in steel sector 3 sponge iron projects of steel provincial plans were inaugurated in last Iranian year and the others will be inaugurated in current Iranian year (started21march2018), Karbasian said.
Last year Iran National Copper Industry Company was profitable and inaugurated some of its projects by Glencore company credits. Some copper projects will be inaugurated in current Iranian year, he declared.
He continued that last year titanium project was activated after many years and also Lamerd_Parsian Energy Intensive Special Economic Zone project reached the construction phase and it is expected the first phase of this project to be operated by the year end.
Due to conducted explorations and drillings in depth of 1900meters, we achieved 2 billion tonnes of high _grade iron ore reserves in Yazd Province, Karbasian said.
Iran exported about 700thousand tonnes sponge iron in last year which is expected to rise in current year, he added.
Direct export of 8mt steel
After JCPOA, Iran directly exported over 8 million tonnes of steel to other countries such as Europe and Canada, chairman of the board of IMIDRO said.
Mine and mining industries sector exported $8.5 billion in 11 month of the last Iranian year (21March2017_19February2018) which accounts for 20percent of country’s total export and about 5 to 6 percent of GDP. During the last Iranian year steel chain export increased 34 percent compared to the corresponding period of the year before, he explained.
In pavade4 project of Tabas coal we will open credit and will assign to interested investors, he added.
Also, Karbasian noted the safety and environment as one of the IMIDRO’s priorities.
