According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, Iran steel production during the first five months of current year was 12.5 Mt, registering a %9.2 growth compared with the corresponding period of the last year. Meanwhile, Iran still is the 10th biggest steel producer in the world, WSA reported.
During May 2021, Iran produced 2.6 Mt of crude steel which indicates a 7.7 percent increase compared with the May 2020, WSA declared.
Also, World Steel Association report indicates that steel output of 64 steel producing countries during the first five months of the current year stood at 837.5 Mt, indicating a %14.5 growth compared with the corresponding period of the year before. Meanwhile, steel output of these countries during May 2021 were 174.4 Mt, up 16.5 percent YoY.
During this five_month period, China with 473.1 Mt crude steel output(%13.9 annual growth),India with 48.6 Mt(%33.6 annual growth), Japan with 40 Mt (%9.1 annual growth),United States with 34.8 Mt (%10.6 annual growth ) and Russia with 31.9 Mt (%7.9 annual growth) respectively were the world’s top 5 steel producing countries.
Moreover, South Korea with 29.3 Mt(%6.9 annual increase),Germany with 17 Mt(%13.6 annual increase),Turkey with 16.3 Mt(%21.2 annual increase) and Brazil with 14.9 Mt(%20.3 annual increase), respectively stood at sixth to ninth ranks of the world’s crude steel production during the first five months of the current year.
