According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, the International Copper Study Group(ICSG) released preliminary data of world copper supply, mines production, production capacity and etc. during the first three months of 2021.In this period, global copper mine production stood at 5,111,000 tonnes indicating a 3.7 percent growth compared with the corresponding period of the year before.
During the first three months of 2021, Americas has the lion’s share with production of 2,707,200 tonnes of red metal followed by Asia with 1,101,300 tonnes, Africa with 609,600 tonnes, Europe with 456,400 tonnes and Oceania with 236,500 tonnes.
Likewise, Mine production capacity increased to 6,318,000 tonnes registering a 4.3 percent growth YoY.
World refined copper production up %4
Copper producer during the first three moths of the current year produced 6,094,000 tonnes of refined copper which indicates a 4 percent rise compared with the corresponding period of the last year.
Moreover, refined copper production capacity of world smelters stood at 7,455,000 tonnes, up 2 percent YoY.
