      Global Copper Output up %4.2 in 4 Months

      Tehran, July31, IMIDRO_ During the first four months of the current year, global copper mine production increased 4.2 percent YoY.

      According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, the International Copper Study Group (ICSG) released preliminary data of world copper supply, mines production, production capacity and etc. during the first four months of 2021.In this period, world’s copper mines produced 6,811,000 tonnes of red metal registering a 4.2 percent rise compared with the corresponding period of the last year.

      During the first four months of the current calendar year, Americas has the lion’s share with production of 3,621,400 tonnes of copper followed by Asia with 1,465,300 tonnes, Africa with 817,500 tonnes, Europe with 596,000 tonnes and Oceania with 310,700 tonnes.
      Moreover, Mine production capacity increased to 8,443,000 tonnes indicating a 4.4 percent growth Year-on-Year.
      World refined copper output rise %4.4
      Global copper producers during the first four months of 2021, produced 8,178,000 tonnes of refined copper which indicates a 4.4 percent growth compared with the corresponding period of the year before.
      Likewise, refined copper production capacity of global smelters stood at 9,946,000 tonnes during the first four month of the current calendar year, rise 2 percent YoY.
