According to the report of Public relations of IMIDRO, Iranian mining and mining industries companies exported 48,689,800 tons of products worth over $12.2 billion during the past Iranian calendar year (ended March 20,2023), registering a 7.6 percent decrease in value compared with the corresponding period of the year before.
In this period, Energy restrictions (such as electricity and gas) was one of the main factors which led to reduction in production and export chain of some products.
Meanwhile, Steel chain took the lion’s share of mineral exports in terms of value, worth $5.76 billion followed by copper chain with $1.577 billion, aluminum chain with $973.3 million pellet with $626.3 million, zinc chain with $597 million, coal and coke with $453.7 million, cement chain with $343.2 million, DRI with $206.1 million, several types of stones and related products with $199.7 million, molybdenum chain with $111.1 million , Iron ore concentrate with $ 90 million, several kinds of ferro with $81.6 million and lead chain with $80.2 million.
Likewise, Iran exported other mineral and mining industries products such as chrome, antimony, mica, titanium, precious metals, nickel, etc. during the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 20,2023).
Mineral Imports up
Moreover, during the period under review, an aggregate of 4,484,800 tons of minerals and mining industries products worth over $4,995 billion were imported in order to meet the needs of local factories, registering %27.5 and %3.9 growth in value and weight respectively, YOY.
