      Global Crude Steel Output Down 1.2% in May2023/Iran’s Production Up 2.2%

      Tehran, June24, IMIDRO_ Global crude steel production during the first five months of the current year, fell %1.2 YOY, World Steel Association reported.

      According to the report of Public Relations of IMIDRO, Global crude steel production during the first 5 months of the current year stood at 786 Mt, indicating %1.2 decrease compared with the corresponding period of the last year, WSA announced.

      During May 2023, 63 steel producing countries produced 161.6 Mt of crude steel, registering 5.1 percent decrease compared with the May 2022, WSA announced.

      Also, World Steel Association report shows that Iran’s steel output during the first five months of the current year stood at 13 Mt, registering a %2.2 growth compared with the same period of the year before. Meanwhile, steel output of Iran during May 2023were 3.3 Mt, up 8.8 percent YOY.

      During this five-month period, China with 444.6 Mt crude steel output, India with 56.4 Mt, Japan with 36.5 Mt, United States with 33.1 Mt and Russia with 32.1Mt respectively were the world’s top 5 steel producing countries. Meanwhile, Iran still is the 10th biggest steel producing country in the world, WSA reported.
