      Global Crude Steel Output Stood at 1.4 BT in 9 Months On Year/Iran Produced 22.1MT

      Tehran, Oct25, IMIDRO_ Global crude steel production during the first nine months of the current year, stood at 1.4 billion tons, World Steel Association reported.

      According to the report of Public Relations of IMIDRO, global crude steel production during the first nine months of 2023 stood at 1 billion and 406.4 million tons, indicating %0.1 growth compared with the corresponding period of the last year, WSA announced.

      Also, World Steel Association reported that Iran’s crude steel output from January to September 2023 stood at 22.1 Mt, registering a %0.6 decrease compared with the same period of the last year.

      Likewise, World crude steel production for the 63 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (world steel) was 149.3 million tons in September 2023, a 1.5% decrease compared to September 2022

      Meanwhile, steel output of Iran during the period under review, was 1.4 Mt, down 12.7 percent YOY.

      Top 10 steel-producing countries

      During this nine-month period, China with 795.1 Mt crude steel output, India with 104.1 Mt, Japan with 65.4 Mt, United States with 60.6 Mt and Russia with 57.1Mt, South Korea with 50.4Mt, Germany with 27.2 Mt, Turkey with 24.5 MT, Brazil with 24Mt and Iran with 22.1 Mt respectively were the world’s top 10 steel producing countries, WSA reported.

      Moreover, China produced 82.1 Mt in September 2023, down 5.6% on September 2022. India produced 11.6 Mt, up 18.2%. Japan produced 7.0 Mt, down 1.7%. The United States produced 6.7 Mt, up 2.6%. Russia is estimated to have produced 6.2 Mt, up 9.8%. South Korea produced 5.5 Mt, up 18.2%. Germany produced 2.9 Mt, up 2.1%. Turkey produced 2.9 Mt, up 8.4%. Brazil is estimated to have produced 2.6 Mt, down 5.6%. Iran produced 2.4 Mt, down 12.7%.
