Tehran, Nov18, IMIDRO_ Iran’s DRI output during the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year(March21_October22), indicating 5.4 percent growth YOY.
According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, the country’s DRI production during the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year(March 21_October 22) stood at 22.112 million tons registering 5.4 rise compared to the corresponding period of the last year.
one of the most important reasons for the increase in sponge iron production in Iran is the establishment of new sponge iron plants in the country.
Also, in recent years, with IMIDRO’s new strategy and with the participation of the private sector, this organization has been able to launch several projects to produce sponge iron.
Direct reduced iron ( DRI), also called sponge iron, is produced from the direct reduction of iron ore (in the form of lumps, pellets, or fines) into iron by reducing gas or elemental carbon produced from natural gas or coal.
