Nearly 600 mines were revived and reactivated previous year / New Records in mine revival during the year 1403 (Iranian Calendar)
IMIDRO’s Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors announced: During the year 1403, nearly 600 mines were revived, reactivated, or developed, marking the highest performance level in mine revival
According to IMIDRO's public relations, Mohammad Aghajanlou stated: Based on the performance of the revival, activation, and development plan of small-scale mines, 2373 mentioned mines have been revived, activated, and developed from the beginning of its launch (year1397 Iranian Calendar) until the end of the last year.
The Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade added: Of this number, 594 mines were related to the year 1403 (2024), considering the target plan of 150 mines, a 296% growth in the performance of the revival, activation, and development plan for small-scale mines can be seen. During the year 1402 (2023), the number of mines revived, activated, and developed was 493.
The Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors announced a 20% surge in performance last year compared to 2023, and continued: The performance in 2024 shows that 96 investment packages were introduced in the form of projects for the revival, activation, and development of small-scale mines. In February of the same year, 5 tender winners were identified with the aim of preparing feasibility studies to complete the value chain.
It is worth mentioning and should be noted that the Iranian Mineral Production and Supply Company (IMPASCO), a subsidiary of IMIDRO, operates as the project’s executor and coordinator to revive and activate the small-scale mines.
