IMIDRO to implement Iran's largest alumina production project

According to IMIDRO's public relations, this project will be implemented in line with the goals of the Seventh Development Plan and to complete the aluminum chain with an anticipated annual capacity of one million tons of alumina powder.

IMIDRO is currently following up on obtaining permits from relevant authorities, including the Economic Council, for the implementation of this massive project.
According to forecasts, upon obtaining the necessary permits, the executive operations of this project will begin by the end of 1404 (Iranian calendar) in Parsian Special Economic Zone – a subsidiary of IMIDRO. This zone is located in the west of Hormozgan province and has a dedicated dock for the import of raw materials and export of mineral industry products of our country.
Nowadays, the only producer of alumina powder - as the primary feed for the production of aluminum ingots - is the Iran Alumina Company in Jajarm city, North Khorasan province, with an average annual production of 240,000 tons. Iran is considered as the first producer of alumina powder in the Middle East.
