According to the report of the public relations of IMIDRO, Amin Safari explained that equipment and preparation of Mehdi Abad lead and zinc mine and construction of processing plants (capacity of 800 thousand tons or its equivalent) are the main parts of this project.
The call for tender will be held in two phases and announcement will be published during the current month. Related documents are prepared by cooperation of domestic and foreign consultants, he added.
According to this report, Mehdi Abad lead and zinc mine has considerable reserves nearly 154 million tons with average grade of 6 percent zinc,2 percent lead and 44geram silver per ton. This reserves includes 85 million tons zinc sulfide (grade of 6.8 percent ) and 69 million tons zinc oxide with grade of 5 percent. Also this mine has 124 million tons Barite ore (Barium sulfate).
