According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, Iran with the exploration of 100 thousand square kilometers is among top ten mining countries in the world and by new explorations and applying modern technologies we expect to promote our rank among top ten mining countries which own certain mineral reservoirs, Mehdi Karbasian said.
Last year over 200 thousand square kilometer explorations had been started in various regions in the country. Also, IMIDRO at the current Iranian year (march2014-march2015) allocated 120b tomans to implementing exploration plans, he expressed.
Iran has unique privileges such as rich energy and mineral resources, educated human resources and other countries of the region access high seas through Iran. These privileges lead to high capacity for development of mine and mining industries sector, he continued.
We require domestic and foreign investment in order to have desired exploitation of potentials of this sector and construction of new processing plans, Karbasian said.
With the implementation of developing plans until the end of sixth development plan steel, aluminum and copper production capacity will be reached 40 million, 900 thousand and 450 thousand tons respectively, Chairman of the executive board of IMIDRO said.
