Inauguration of Iran’s first potash production plant in Khur

According to the report of the public relations of IMIDRO, this plant with potash production capacity of 50,000 tons per year is in Isfahan province.

Attention to the development of the mine and mining industry is one of the most important

missions of IMIDRO and in this way, cooperation of private sector will accelerate development, Mehdi Karbasian said. Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade expressed that mine is the main source of income in desert areas so, existence of the potentials such as talented human resources and rich mines in this areas are the reasons to notify the mine sector in these areas.

Iran has 60 playas, IMIDRO has 3 of these playas and the most important one in terms of purity is Khur playa. Country needs 250000 tons potash so development plans in this sector is necessary, he added.

Finally, the Chairman of the executive board of IMIDRO appreciated efforts of all managers, experts and firms which played role in inauguration of the first potash production plant in the country.
