According to the report of the public relations of IMIDRO, during the first third months of the Iranian year 1394 (from 21 March to 21 Jun 2015) Iran’s steel producers exported approximately 406 thousand tones of all types of steel products worth about $288 million ,Mehdi Karbasian said.
These products were exported to Italy, Spain, South Korea,Armenia,Qatar,Iraq,Emirates,Afghanistan,Thailand,Pakistan,Oman,Tajikistan,Azerbaijan,Turkmenistan and etc., he added.
Iran during the mentioned period exported about 470 thousand tone steel ingots worth about $202 million to ten countries including: Jordan, India, Thailand, Turkey, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Oman and Emirates, he continued.
During the last Iranian year (from20 March2014 to 20 March2015) more than 2million tones steel products were exported .Iran’s steel producer plants plans to export 4million tones by the end of this year, Mehdi Karbasian explained.
According to the report, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade and IMIDRO, considering the specific circumstances of global and domestic steel market for various reasons, such as subsidies to exports from China and lower demand, have provided situations for Iranian steelmakers in order to less affected by the current circumstances.
